CDEU - Cstr DSP Extraction Utility -------------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This utility will ask you to load in a DSPbundle and then allow you to extract the individual DSP files from it, which should be playable with HCS's in_cube plugin. (www.halleyscometsoftware.com) Why? Video game enthouiasts often like to listen to the music from their games... This program lets you get all the music from a bundle of DSPs so you can listen to them! Archive Contents: It should be a 7zip file containing the following: (14 items total) CDEU.exe - My DSP extraction Util. changelog.log - Sequential list of changes to the utils. Readme.txt - This file todo.txt - Sequential list of changes that need to be done at some point. source/*.h - The header files for this program.(5 items) source/*.cpp - The sources for this program.(5 items) Basic Usage: 1.- Rip a Game Cube game. 2.- Rip the music from it. 3.- If all the music is in one big file you can try this program. 4.- Copy the big music file to where you put CDEU. 5.- Run CDEU. 6.- You will be told to type in the file name of the music file. (It will keep telling you to do this until you type a valid filename!) 7.- The menu will appear, so press 1 [ENTER] and it will try and extract the DSPs. 8.- You will be asked to type in filenames for each DSP found, so do. (e.g. track01.dsp) 9.- You will be returned to the menu when it has done. You should find the DSPs in CDEU's folder. Known Issues: - It is NOT optimised, and required you to have enough memory to load the big bundled DSP files, this IS on the todo list. :) Info: I was just bored of doing coursework... erm... well I just thought it would be more fun to write a program rather than HexEding to extract the DSPs from R: Racing. Disclaimer Thingy: This program is used at the users' own risk! I am grateful for people wanting to test software, but no trying to sue me because "M% 5+00P1¦) PROGRAMz Fuxored j00R 1337 Bo><" I promise that this program is in no way engineered to purposely do any such thing, but if on the offchance it does happen, well you have been warned! Source code: WOOHOO, this actually is all my own code at the moment ^_^ The included source is free for you to do whatever you wish... just make sure that my name stays on it! I also ask that you email me any improvements you make to the source. I promise that anything you add will be credited accordingly.(Basically whatever you use the source for... I'd like to know about it! :)) Credits: Coding: PokéParadox About me: PokéParadox, I'm floating around various places on the internet: Project Infinity - www.projectinfinity.org.uk Halley's Comet Software - www.halleyscometsoftware.com Other Emulation and Scene sites :) You can contact me at: pokeparadox AT gmail DOT com
